Bloons Tower Defence 4

Developed originally as an online flash game back in 2007 by NinjaKiwi, Bloons has risen in popularity ever since. Although the original game was various levels of popping balloons with darts, the concept has never changed when Bloons Tower Defence was introduced. Since the original, many packs and versions of Bloons were introduced, including level builders where you could share them with other players. Later in 2007 Bloons Tower Defence or Bloons TD was born. The first TD game was limited to only 6 different coloured balloons with more added as more versions of the game were produced. Bloons was brought to iOS in 2009 with the original Bloons and Bloons TD 3 both being available to buy. Now Bloons TD 4 is available and here is my review of it.

With a great user interface and stunning high definition graphics, Bloons TD 4 for iOS has to be the greatest version of the hit game to date. Available on the app store for £1.99/$2.99 for the iPhone version and £2.99/$4.99 for the HD version, NinjaKiwi have really stepped up the quality of the sensational game when bring it to iOS devices. The game consists of many levels to try at three different difficulties with also different modes to try such as having limited money to spend. This brings a variety to the game and sets up unlimited amounts of games to try especially since they implemented challenges into the game where you have to complete the set task with the set terms, such as getting to round 65 on hard on a given level. This creates a good challenge to those who are experienced and are up for it. Also in the game, are many of the towers that you will have experienced in previous versions of the game, along with some new ones to try. This creates new experiences to those who have seen the series grow and want to see and to play more of it.

Reasons to Buy
Along with a great fast paced experience for players, Bloons TD 4 also comes with as good as you will get graphics. This makes the whole experience that much better. Having had this app for several months now, I have noticed how well NinjaKiwi supports this game with updates, adding new maps and challenges along with the odd new tower. This has really impressed me and makes me happy with the development of this app and makes me feel like it was worth the money.

Reasons Not to Buy
Although this app is off high quality and comes with a great experience, there are some drawbacks to it. One is that depending on your device, will depend on how far you can go in terms of rounds, before it starts to lag. This is due to the amount of ongoings happening on the screen at once. This can annoy some users, particularly when doing well and not wanting to quit due to lag. Another drawback is the price. Although this is a fantastic app to say the least, it isn't the cheapest. I do feel that it offers a lot more than the typical 69p/$.99 app but I do feel that it may have a lot more users if they had a sale on once in a while in order to let users who don't like spending much on app or can't afford to, to be able to experience such a mesmerising game.

Rating
Having been very impressed with the whole of this app, I am awarding it, five stars out of 5

Summary
This is the sort of app that iOS devices were made for!
