Plants vs. Zombies

This game needs no introduction as it has been played by millions all across the world on many different platforms. Plants vs. Zombies is a tower defence game that was developed by Popcap who are also famous for creating Bejeweled. Created in 2009, Plants vs Zombies has already expanded to games consoles, computers and mobile devices. Having gathered such a great reception in 2009, Popcap began expanding Plants vs Zombies in 2010 starting with iOS devices. It then moved on to Xbox live followed by Nintendo DS and PlayStation network. Since release it has been recognised wisely as a remarkable game having picked up over 30 game of the year awards.

The overall idea of the game is to stop various looking zombies from getting to your house and destroying all your plants. You do this by earning points to then spend on a variety of plants that will then attack the zombies. You will have so many zombies attack your garden at each round. At the end of each round you will be able to rearrange the items that you can use to attack the zombies with as you are limited to the amount of different types you can use.

Reasons to Buy
Although it can be quite a long winded game if you lack patience, it can be extremely fun and challenging if you are a fan of tower defence games. Popcap have also done a great job with the user interface as well as the graphics. This is a couple of the requirements in order to create a good user experience. This app also comes with Game Center integration which is a nice feature to have. It is a good game to play if you need to waste time on a journey

Reasons Not to Buy
This is quite an expensive application with it being priced at £1.99/$2.99 for the normal version and £4.99/$6.99 for the HD version for iPad. Not that many users will be prepared to fork out that sort of money for one application as many users will prefer the apps that you can pick up for 69p/$.99. Another reason not to buy is that, if you have played the versions for other platforms, the you won't see much difference which is more than likely to disappoint you.

Rating
As this app provides a fun experience and comes with great graphics and is already a huge success, I am going to give this app, five stars out of five.

Summary
A fun, yet simple tower defence game.
